On November 27, 2024, the 1st conference of the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) entitled Reframing Cybersecurity Awareness Raising was held at Cankarjev dom in Ljubljana. The event was organized in cooperation with the Slovenian National Cyber Security Response Center SI-CERT and was primarily dedicated to the human aspect of cyber security, risk communication, and the effectiveness of awareness-raising approaches.
Luka Radičević, a young researcher at our institute, attended the conference, as his participation was related to his previous research work in the field of cyber security, particularly from the perspective of the impact of artificial intelligence on the security of individuals.
The conference program brought together contributions from experts from European institutions, academia, and the private sector, addressing topics such as the psychology of cybercrime, human factors in cyber attacks, the role of storytelling and gamification in raising awareness, and adapting security approaches to different target groups. Particular emphasis was placed on considering how new technologies, including artificial intelligence, are changing security risks and responses to them.
Participation in the conference contributed to a deeper understanding of current European debates in the field of cyber security and strengthened the research competencies of the IER at the intersection of technology, security, and the social impacts of digital transformation.
