The field of labour market and education focuses on understanding:
the knowledge and skills needed by workers to perform their work,
decisions made by individuals during education and on the labour market,
wage, unemployment and employment trends,
the impact of policies on education and the labour market,
the results that workers achieve in the labor market and during education, with an emphasis on gender differences.
We conduct microeconometric research based on administrative and survey data. The selected recent studies include: analysis of time allocation and emotional exhaustion during the COVID-19 pandemic in Slovenia, analysis of the impact of student work and academic success on the probability of employment after graduation, analysis of the impact of student work on academic success, analysis of the needs for the implementation of higher education study programs in Slovenia, and an analysis of the causes of the gender pension gap in Slovenia. The microsimulation labour market model also makes an important contribution to the development of modelling tools specifically tailored to the Slovenian labour market.
