On Thursday, 5 June 2025, the Institute for Economic Research (IER), in cooperation with Profil d.o.o., hosted the international conference Future of Jobs in Ljubljana, marking the 60th anniversary of the institute’s work.

The event brought together representatives of the World Economic Forum (WEF), business leaders, HR professionals and researchers from Slovenia and the region to discuss key labour market trends, the development of future competences, and the challenges and opportunities that rapid change presents for businesses.

The conference aimed to shed light on these issues from multiple perspectives – both from the strategic and human resources standpoint of companies and from the broader societal and institutional context, including the role of research organisations and policy support.
