He stressed that an ageing population is not necessarily negative, as this is primarily due to people living longer and healthier lives. The key challenge lies in our ability to adapt our social systems quickly enough to the changing intergenerational balance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No single measure will suffice. What is needed is a combination of extending working lives, thoughtful immigration policy, developing relevant skills and, above all, increasing productivity. As he emphasized in the interview: 'Demographics set the framework, but they do not determine our fate.' V pogovoru je spregovoril o staranju prebivalstva ter njegovih posledicah za pokojninski in zdravstveni sistem, dolgotrajno oskrbo in trg dela. Poudaril je, da staranje prebivalstva ni le slaba novica, saj je predvsem posledica dalj\u0161ega in bolj zdravega \u017eivljenja. Klju\u010dni izziv je, ali bomo znali dru\u017ebene sisteme dovolj hitro prilagoditi spreminjajo\u010demu se razmerju med generacijami. Posamezen ukrep pri tem ne bo zado\u0161\u010dal. Potrebna bo kombinacija dalj\u0161e delovne aktivnosti, premi\u0161ljenega priseljevanja, razvoja ustreznih kompetenc in predvsem vi\u0161je produktivnosti.
