The second day of the meeting of research institutes from the Central, Eastern, and Southeastern Europe (CESEE) region, hosted by the IER on 5\u20136 June 2025, was dedicated to a closed working session and open discussion among institutional representatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The day began with a thought-provoking contribution by Luka Radi\u010devi\u0107 (IER) titled Big models, even bigger questions? Rethinking economic research in the age of AI: Beyond the hype, towards a smarter research ecosystem, offering critical reflections on the future of research in the era of artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two interactive discussions followed, focused on the use of artificial intelligence and how research organisations are responding to digitalisation, and current challenges and opportunities for strengthening regional cooperation among institutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exchange took place in an open and inclusive atmosphere, encouraging the sharing of experiences, challenges, and good practices. Participants addressed questions of strategic development, necessary institutional adaptation, and shared ideas for new forms of collaboration in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drugi dan sre\u010danja raziskovalnih in\u0161titutov iz srednje, vzhodne in jugovzhodne Evrope, ki ga je gostil IER 5. in 6. junija 2025, je bil namenjen zaprtemu delovnemu sre\u010danju in medsebojni razpravi predstavnikov in\u0161titutov. Sre\u010danje se je za\u010delo s prispevkom Luka Radi\u010devi\u0107a (IER) z naslovom Big models, even bigger questions? Rethinking economic research in the age of AI: Beyond the hype, towards a smarter research ecosystem, ki je udele\u017eencem ponudil kriti\u010den razmislek o prihodnosti raziskovalnega dela v \u010dasu umetne inteligence. Sledili sta dve interaktivni delovni razpravi, osredoto\u010deni na uporabo umetne inteligence in odziv raziskovalnih organizacij na digitalizacijo ter aktualne izzive in mo\u017enosti za okrepljeno regionalno sodelovanje med raziskovalnimi in\u0161tituti. Razprava je potekala v odprtem in vklju\u010dujo\u010dem duhu izmenjave izku\u0161enj, izzivov in dobrih praks. Udele\u017eenci so naslovili vpra\u0161anja strate\u0161kega razvoja, potrebnih institucionalnih sprememb ter delili ideje o novih oblikah sodelovanja v regiji.
